Pursuant to Section 155.19 of the Insurance Code (215 ILCS 5/155.19), insurers authorized or permitted by law to provide medical liability insurance in this State shall report to the Department of Insurance all Illinois medical professional liability claims and suits. The regulation (50 Ill. Adm. Code 928) provides further details on procedures for reporting claims, which are to be submitted via this web application provided by the Department.
Please contact DOI Med Mal with any questions regarding the medical professional liability claims reporting requirements.
Insurance Data Reporting Requirements
- Part 4203 Subpart A Insurance Data Reporting Requirements:
Subpart A is due November 30th of every year. The format, specific data elements, and filing process required for the November 2011 data filing are substantially identical to the November 2010 data submission process.
The Department asks that all data be submitted through the online application. The online application will verify the format of all data submitted, replacing the edit program previously utilized during the Part 4203 data call process. Companies will no longer need to download and install the separate edit program.
If you experience any issues regarding the submission of your Part 4203 data please contact Robert P. Rapp at (217) 785-1680.
